Healthy Communities Grant Program
Kentucky Department for Public Health
The Kentucky Department for Public Health and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet partnered for a mini-grant program in 2014-2015. The grant awarded $500 to communities that were willing to undergo pedestrian plan training and create a pedestrian plan for a project area. The Clark County Health Department partnered with the Greater Clark Foundation, Winchester-Clark County Tourism, and Clark County GIS to hold in-person community surveys, stakeholder meetings, and sidewalk condition surveys. From these results, the group generated a pedestrian plan for the North Winchester Neighborhood.
The final plan was submitted to the Kentucky Department for Public Health on August 17, 2015.
